The world of fungi shows us the true meaning of Symbiocene. The structure of the mushroom root, the mycelium network connected by colonies in a system of hyphae, forming a wonderful unity, illustrates the process of life reinforcing, supporting and regenerating each other.
It is a biological process, when the hyphae grew structurally during the process of organising into a tissue that never repeats itself according to the same system, and thus its aesthetics are always different. As a fellow creator, I provide the conditions for life and, by means of the form, partly determine the path of growth and movement, while leaving room for the free flow of the living organism.
The mycelium does not dominate, but humbly interweaves, softly penetrates, makes contact, finds micronised gaps, fills empty spaces, unifies the system. It creates order. Mycelium is the question, the hypothesis and the solution. Fungi are one of the best examples of existence in an ecocircular loop, they can provide us with a microbiological solution for the survival of our planet. They are with us all the time, weaving their way around the universe, filling the void, feeding the continuity necessary for existence. They give back to Mother Nature what they temporarily borrow.
MAP (Mycelium Advanced Phrases), a network of forms that grow from plane to space, a coherent mycelium 'map', and a metaphor for the relationship between nature and the built urban environment. The series was created in 'The White MAP, The White Relief' context.
