The White MAP project points to the natural cycle of life, the basis of the cradle-to-cradle principle, not only in its biological, mycological aspect, but also in its philosophical, ideological meaning. The MAP (Mycelium Advanced Phrases) and FYP (Fungi Yielded Papers) series presents interactively, what it carries in its metaphorical meaning, the emotional, psychological, technological, biological symbiosis of humanity, its harmonious coexistence with the system of nature.
We must allow nature to grow and flow freely in the world of form we have defined and accept the entity of living beings other than humanity, just as we must learn to adapt humbly and live in synchrony with the system set up by nature.
Symbiotic existence with other living beings based on nature is the only and feasible way forward. One basis for this lies in the multiple and diverse interconnectedness of living beings on earth, i.e. a similar approach as the result of my theoretical assumptions and practical experiments, the physical realisation and metaphorical stylisation of which is the system of colonised hyphae in the mycelium network.
MAP (Mycelium Advanced Phrases), a network of forms that grow from plane to space, a coherent mycelium 'map', and a metaphor for the relationship between nature and the built urban environment. The series was created in 'The White MAP, The White Relief' context.
