Tactile whiteness UV light in the cabin

Non-verbal communication under UV light. The transparency of white
Scientific observations on the intense fluorescence of the fruiting bodies of some fungi and its own experimental feedback in Ganoderma lucidum. The project includes the performance results of an interactive experiment in which a new semiotic signalling system is developed in which UV light reveals the invisible fruiting body primordia hiding behind the mycelium. These interpret a translatable communication system based on the different life cycles of Ganoderma lucidum and thus help to understand the message of the living organism. In a light-proof cabin, completely sealed from light, we can experience the white forms visible to the naked eye in person, and then switch to UV light to see the living organism hiding behind the mycelium. This reveals the active fluorescent fibres, the UV-responsive fruiting body parts, in a bright pink magenta colour. The UV cabin is part of the exhibition space and is completely closed to light, providing total darkness for the images and objects placed inside. When visitors enter, they can turn on the UV light to see the living organisms hiding behind the mycelium root network. This interactivity helps us to better understand the relationship between what is visible and invisible to humans, but also to try out other perceptual stimuli (touch, smell).
